“Amber Speaks”
Roses have the ability to look beautiful in gardens
Yet they simultaneously have the ability to create
After their petals are broken by the harsh rain of the storm
Artists take them in and dry them, nurturing them
They boil the petals slightly and the roses bleed
Their true colors are released from the petals that were broken
They can paint watercolor masterpieces!
Isn’t that what we should all do?
Nurture ourselves after the storm
Accept the stories we have, let ourselves cry a little
Release ourselves of what was
Create with who we truly are
To be able to see our freedom from the past and decide what we want to do with our lives
is the most liberating thing I’ve experienced as a survivor
I pray everyone can feel that too one day
-“Amber”

“...to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of despair.” Isaiah 61:3
No destructive force in our lives is greater than God’s plan to redeem it all. “Amber” is living proof of this.
