Since 2009, New Day for Children has provided hope and healing for America’s sex-trafficked children, ages 10-18. New Day for Children seeks to restore the stolen childhood of recovered sex-trafficked children. We accomplish this by providing financial support for a safe and secure living environment, tuition for school, weekly therapy, equine therapy, medical, dental, and vision care, and other essential needs. The children are enrolled in fully accredited schools with their curriculum adapted to their individual academic level and life goals.
New Day understands that solutions must outweigh challenges. Each child has their own unique story, and the support they receive is tailored to their individual needs.
New Day for Children, alongside collaborating organizations, serves children from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences. Many of the children celebrate reaching goals, both academic and personal, such as high school graduation, entering college, the workplace, or life skills development programs.
There is high demand for the support New Day provides, as families of young trafficking victims are most often left to fend for themselves.

A child is identified
Children are identified in a variety of ways. Discovery often happens with assistance of law enforcement or social services. At times, it could be from a parent, guardian, teacher, or youth pastor.
New Day is Notified
An agency (like FBI or Homeland Security) or family assess the situation and makes the decision to call New Day for Children for support.
New Day Process Begins
New Day for Children’s placement manager is contacted, and conducts a profile that a parent or legal guardian must complete with us that can take anywhere from 30-60 mins. All children who we support need to be Commercially Sexually Exploited Children AND be willing to participate in residential treatment. After the profile is complete, we discuss our options/availability of placement, and assess which would be the most suitable for the client. If accepted, the family will need to sign a release of confidential information for New Day to be able to pass on the profile to one or more of our partnered residential treatment programs.
Child Enters Placement
Our partnered placements will respond within 24-48 hours if they are willing to move forward with the placement process. If accepted, the family will have to undergo a separate application process. After that, the parent/legal guardian will be notified with a formal acceptance or denial of placement. If accepted, the final steps will be unique to each placement, but will consist of paperwork that must be filled out and notarized by a parent/legal guardian before transportation arrangements are made.
Services Received
Once New Day for Children has helped place the child, we begin funding for their placement needs. This includes, but is not limited to, safe housing, therapy, medical, dental, vision, education, tutoring, and various other expenses.
Continuation of Services
When children leave our partnered programs we continue to check in on them and provide support when needed or requested. For instance, we often provide financial support for children who choose to continue their education, help with medical expenses when needed, and pay for continued academic tutoring and continued therapy.
